Education and Multipurpose Centres for the young

In Subsahara Africa, the community is more important than the individual, this observation is equally true in the adult world as in that of children, who make up the majority of the population. A glance at the population age pyramid of subsahara Africa shows that more than 50% are in the 0 to 18-year-old range.

The present situation of African youth indicates that part of it is deprived of any form of education. The phenomenon, brought about by ever-increasing urbanisation, is no longer unimportant and has many consequences: the young are left to their own devices, unoccupied, often drawn to violence and delinquency.

This is why AFRICACTIONS is convinced that public and semi-public organisations should not be alone in acting to improve the social and cultural environment of the children subsahara Africa, and we intend setting up education and multipurpose centres for the young wherever the need arises.

To do this AFRICACTIONS wishes in partnership with existing bodies, to help in the training of actors in this field: trainers, educators, animators, teachers.

The education and multi-purpose centres for the young will welcome the young and propose a variety of activities.

= Scholastic learning
= Sports activities
= Initiation into technology
= Arts and crafts training
= Non-vocational activities

Presentation of work in progress

AFRICACTIONS has initiated certain projects which appear important to us for African unity, the training and the well-being of its population and the promotion of its culture.

To show this, we present four projects to you, the realisation of which the members of AFRICACTIONS have very much to heart.

-The Africalternative "AfricaInteractive"® project for sharing of expertise: cyber-expertise (advance professional training)
cyber-formation (distance learning thanks to the new information and communication technologies)

-The creation of a Black African Cultural Institute (ICAN) in Paris

-The setting up of awareness and education centres in Africa for young Africans (CEEP)

-A federation of African associations in Europe and in the world.
